Since Easter's coming, we’re celebrating the
rebirth of Jesus. And, in today’s skin care column entry, we’re going to talk
about your skin’s rebirth through skin rejuvenation.
First off, skin rejuvenation breathes a new
life into your skin. It refers to all efforts aiming at the healing and prevention
of scars, acne, wrinkles and making it look as vibrant as it can be. Over all,
it enhances your skin’s elasticity, complexion and over-all health. Here are my
top tips for skin rejuvenation:
1. Sleep – I could not nag you more about
sleeping at least 8 hours every night. Sleeping gives chance for your body to
re-charge, repair cells and it also helps in lessening stress. Notice that it’s
always the skin and the eyes that suffer the most ugly curses everytime you don’t
get enough sleep? That is because sleep is closely linked to the health of your
skin. Do not take it for granted. When you’re 40, you’ll thank me.
2. Yes, 8 Glasses of Water – This one’s a
little negotiable. You can do with 6 glasses actually, but because it’s summer,
you’ll be prone to losing more water so drink up more! The human skin is 75%
water, so the more you drink, the healthier it becomes. On the other hand,
dehydration can cause dull skin tissues and exhaustion so make sure you avoid
that. The truth is, even if THIS is the only change you’ll be doing, you’ll see
a lot of improvement in as early as 5 days.
3. Moisturize – Sure, drinking water can help in
moisturizing your skin. However, you can also use help from anti-aging
moisturizers (night use) and moisturizers with sunblock (day use) to make your
skin rejuvenated.
4. Exfoliate – Even if you might not be aware of it, you shed off skin
every day. That is why you have to do this the right way. Natural shedding can
happen when you take your bath but to shed evenly and to make your skin look
newer, use a mild body scrub every other day. Rub in a circular motion all over
your body—don’t miss an inch!—and you’ll be on your way to younger looking
skin!
5. Non-Invasive Treatments – If you’ve done
all 4 above and you still think you need more help for your skin’s revival,
check out non-invasive treatments from local spas and facial centers. For
example, a diamond peel. It uses a machine that looks like a wand that contains
diamond dust. They use this wand for better exfoliation and to reveal newer
skin underneath. With regular use, it can eliminate scars and fine wrinkles.
Another option is laser resurfacing, which uses painless light to remove the
upper damaged layer of your skin. With regular use, you’ll maintain a “new
layer” that’s now fresher and imperfection-free.
It’s no secret: rejuvenated skin makes you
look more rested and attractive. Why don’t you make that an Easter resolution? J
